The starting point

A multi-brand fulfillment center operating several Ascena / Knitwell Group retail brands under one roof needed to meet rising e-commerce demand and address labor constraints in picking and replenishment. The client selected Locus autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) to close the gap — and needed to deploy at scale, integrated with Manhattan , in time for holiday peak shipping.

02  ·  Approach

How SIS engaged.

A disciplined playbook — aligned with operations, built around the client's technical reality, and sequenced to protect the business at every step.

01Step 1

Vendor selection leadership

SIS resources played a key role in evaluating vendors and confirming Locus as the right autonomous mobile robot partner for the operation.

02Step 2

Design with minimal extensions

Leveraged warehousing, robotics, and automation expertise to steer the client toward a lean, standards-based design — keeping custom extensions to a minimum.

03Step 3

Business ⇄ vendor liaison

Acted as the bridge between business operations and Locus / Manhattan vendor teams — aligning priorities, cadence, and technical commitments.

04Step 4

Integration, testing, and deployment

Partnered across integration development, end-to-end testing, and deployment of 110+ picking robots and 10+ replenishment bots, integrated with Manhattan .
